What begins as the modulation of tension
becomes the observation of the self.
At first, we practice relaxation.
Then conductivity.
Then Peng and Lu.
Then momentum.
But eventually something deeper becomes visible:
Every resistance in the body is connected to the tendency to contract around a center called “I.”
The deepest practice is therefore not learning how to control another person.
It is seeing what happens within us when the world makes contact.
Martial practice begins with the body.
Observation reveals the self.
