The principle is not to fight incoming tension, but to give it somewhere to go.
When pressure arrives, we habitually resist.
The body contracts.
The contact point becomes fixed.
Two forces begin to oppose each other.
Internal practice reverses this reflex.
Become lighter at the contact.
Allow the tension to travel.
Give it a pathway through the body and into space.
When tension can move, resistance no longer needs to remain.
